Situated right on the Indian Ocean, it is the ideal place from which to access both the wilderness areas and the beaches of Tanzania and Zanzibar. Most visitors en route to the better-known Tanzanian attractions are surprised by the charm of this unassuming city. Attractions include the beautiful beaches of Kunduchi, Mjimwena and Mbwa Maji, Dar es Salaam's spectacular harbour and the local markets. Spend the night in a luxury suite at Oyster Bay. Your stay is on a fully inclusive basis

Oyster Bay Hotel
The Oyster Bay is a charming hotel, located on the dazzling seafront, in the ambassadorial and smart residential area of Dar es Salaam. Essentially a large private house and surrounded by lush gardens, this boutique hotel offers guests a real ‘home away from home’ during their obligatory stop over - either before or after a thrilling Tanzanian wildlife safari.
Just eight rooms facing the Indian Ocean are decorated in minimalist style with white walls and muted colors, each featuring a contemporary African design. All of the suites are particularly spacious with luxury king-size beds, air conditioning and a living area. Floor to ceiling French doors open onto private verandahs, capturing even the slightest of sea breezes. The distractingly pretty gardens, seaside location and a high wall surrounding the property, makes it easy to forget that you are overnighting in the middle of a bustling and vibrant African city.
The Oyster Bay is only 15 minutes from the city center and a 45 minute drive from the airport where you will be met on arrival by the hotel’s uniformed chauffeur. Take a stroll to the nearby Oyster Bay shopping center or pay a visit to one of the city’s local markets or the museum.

Mnemba Island Lodge
Steeped in culture and history, Zanzibar enticed adventurers, seafarers and traders from far and wide. Known as the spice island, from the centuries old trade of cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon, today the Zanzibar Archipelago is still bathed in the heady scents of spices and traditional dhows still drift across the horizon.
A romantic hideaway, Mnemba Island is an exclusive paradise featuring just 12 rustically chic beachside Bandas, including one Family Banda, for only 26 guests (and the dedicated staff caring for them), connected to the breathtaking Mnemba Atoll.
Discover sheer, unpretentious paradise on this private island, where the simple pleasures become your most treasured of memories for many years to come. Inspired by its beach location and offering uninterrupted ocean access, the island’s 11 Bandas and one Family Banda (which features an adjoining room ideal for young families) are designed to resemble a nautilus seashell. Relax and unwind on your own stretch of beachfront, where simple yet luxurious (and completely private) Beach Lounges peep out onto unblemished sands from the dappled shade of the casuarina pine forest. Thatched dining and sitting or bar areas boast beautiful open views of the beach and spectacular vistas of Zanzibar beyond.
Late breakfast trays teeming with tropical fruit, freshly squeezed juice and Tanzanian coffee can be delivered to the Bandas for those wanting to indulge in a lie-in. Fresh sushi and chilled champagne can appear discreetly at the guests’ Beach Lounges should they wish to celebrate the magnificent sunset in privacy. Romantic candlelit dinners are served on the beach, with the waves lapping gently at guests’ feet.
Explore the lodge’s Discovery Centre, engaging with the incredible conservation and community-focused projects taking place in and around the Mnemba Atoll. Join the Wild Impact Oceans Without Borders team on their daily excursions to the coral nursery and artificial reef. Or allow yourself to relax and take a break with yoga and massages at the lodges’ Wellness Banda or in the tranquil retreat of your Banda.
